Revelation -- 24
The Book of Revelation #24
The first trumpet burns 1/3 of the earth, 1/3 of the trees, and all green grass. The second trumpet causes 1/3 of the sea to become blood, 1/3 of the living creatures in the sea to die and 1/3 of the ships to be destroyed and the third trumpet causes 1/3 of the waters to become bitter so that many men died of the water that was made bitter.
These three trumpets affect the natural context in which man lives. This effect is partial (1/3) and indirect since these plagues do not target man directly. This is left for later.
Beyond the obvious meaning of these woes there lies the plagues of Egypt. Numerous scriptural passages are implicitly called upon here and this talk will explore these trumpets in the context of the Old Testament to help us better understand their meaning and their impact on our daily lives.
