In Chapter 7, verses 1 through 17, we learn of the 144,000 sealed by the hand of an angel. In fact, angelic activity is significant since there are angels holding back the four winds to prevent them from doing harm to earth, sea, and trees, and there is a great angel that ascends from the rising of the sun and another that is sealing the 144,000.
What are the four winds of the earth and what is their relationship to the four horsemen in the first four seals? Who are the 144,000 and why are they sealed? What is the literal meaning of all of this and does it have any application for our lives today, or is it only restricted to the end times?
Also, how does this relate to the Liturgy?
